Isabella Mir, the daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, is going to follow in her father’s footsteps.
Mir, 17, has signed with Ikon Fighting Federation to make her pro MMA debut on Oct. 22 in San Carlos, Mexico, her manager, Malki Kawa, told ESPN. She will be fighting Danielle Wynn in a 135-pound bout.
Mir has never fought amateur, while Wynn has a 4-3 amateur record. This will mark Wynn’s pro debut, as well.
Mir was a standout high school wrestler at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. She has even cornered her father later in his career.
Frank Mir is considered one of the best heavyweights in the history of MMA. A multiple-time UFC champion, he last competed in October 2019.
