Reports: Nuggets’ Porter out due to protocols

NBA

Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. is expected to miss multiple games because of the NBA’s health and safety protocols related to COVID-19, according to multiple reports.

The Athletic first reported that Porter will miss Friday’s game against the Phoenix Suns as the Nuggets conduct contact tracing.

The Denver Post reported that Porter’s contact tracing began Thursday.

Porter, 22, is the Nuggets’ second-leading scorer and rebounder through their first four games this season, averaging 19.5 points and 6.8 rebounds.

The third-year forward has assumed a larger role with the Nuggets, who lost key wing players Jerami Grant and Torrey Craig in free agency before the season.
