Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik left social media stunned as he shared his wedding pictures with Pakistani actress Sana Javed on Saturday. The announcement caught the world of sports in both Pakistan and India off guard, as the rumours of a breakdown of his marriage with Indian tennis star Sania Mirza turned into facts. But, what really prompted the two to go their separate ways? A report by a Pakistani media outlet suggests that it was the cricketer’s extra-marital affairs that drove Sania out.

In what was Shoaib Malik’s third wedding, the report revealed that none of the cricketer’s family members were present. In fact, Malik’s sisters were upset by the fact that the former Pakistan captain was marrying for the third time.

“None of Shoaib Malik’s family members attended his third wedding with divorced actress Sana Javed. Malik’s sisters have expressed serious concerns over his divorce with Tennis star Sania Mirza. It is claimed that Sania was tired of Malik’s extramarital affairs,” a report by The Pakistan Daily said.

Neither Sania, nor Shoaib has publicly spoken about their relationship but rumours have been afloat for a lon while. Even Sania’s social media activity suggested that not all was well between the two.

Sania had also shared cryptic posts on Instagram over the last few days, hinting at the turmoil that was within her.

“When something disturbs the peace of your heart, let it go,” she wrote earlier this month.

“Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely,” Mirza wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.

Shoaib and Sania have a son named Izhaan who turned 5 years old in October last year.
