Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi went a little overboard as he looked to congratulate teammate Mohammad Rizwan for reaching 3000 runs in T20 international cricket. Rizwan reached the milestone as Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the 2nd T20I of the series. In the process, the Pakistan wicket-keeper batter became the fastest player to climb Mt. 3k in T20 cricket, doing so in 79 innings.

Congratulating Rizwan on the accomplishment, Shaheen called him the ‘Don Bradman of T20 cricket’. The label by the left-arm pacer saw him earn plenty of flak from social media.

“Cheers to Muhammad Rizwan – the Bradman of T20 cricket and Pakistan’s SuperMan for hitting 3,000 T20I runs! Your impact has transformed the game and silenced the skeptics. Keep soaring, champion! You’re an inspiration to many,” Shaheen Afridi had written on Twitter.

Here’s how fans reacted:

While Pakistan won the second T20I, they suffered a bitter defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the third match of the series, with the Kiwis securing a 7-wicket win.

“We were 10 runs short unfortunately. I think Shadab recovered well and built a good partnership. I think 180-190 was a par score according to me. We tried to play according to the situation. Shadab (Khan) executed his plans and played his natural game. He played as per the demand of the situation. We started well in the powerplay. If you drop catches it will cost you. We tried to bowl according to the plans. We will try to improve and bowl better in the next game,” Pakistan captain Babar said on the defeat.
