Ex- Wales star Rees-Zammit left off Chiefs roster

Former Wales rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit has been left out of the Kansas City Chiefs roster for the upcoming season, the team confirmed Tuesday.

Rees-Zammit has been training with the Chiefs this off season after making the move from rugby to the NFL through the international player pathway in January.

Rees-Zammit was trying to make the team as a running back. In preseason, he carried six times for 22 yards and caught one pass for three yards.

The reigning Super Bowl champions signed him in March, and while he played for them in preseason, the 23-year-old has not been included in the 53-man squad for 2024.

The omission does not necessarily end Rees-Zammit’s dream of playing in the NFL, as he can still be picked up by other teams and keep a place in the Chief’s practice squad.
