Jon Rahm is dealing with flu-like symptoms and elected to withdraw from the LIV Golf Team Championship on Saturday at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas.

LIV Golf alternate John Catlin will replace Rahm as Legion XIII battle Phil Mickelson‘s HyFlyers GC in the semifinals of the competition. Catlin will square off against Cameron Tringale in the first singles match.

“Jon has been experiencing severe flu symptoms the last few days,” Legion XIII posted on social media. “In the best interest of his team and under the [advice] of his medical team, he will not be playing this weekend. He will continue to provide full support to his team.”

Tyrrell Hatton of England, Caleb Surratt and the recently relegated Kieran Vincent of Zimbabwe also compete for Legion XIII.

Rahm, 29, is one week removed from being crowned the 2024 LIV Golf League individual champion. The Spaniard is in his first year with LIV Golf after leaving the PGA Tour in December.
