Quick, which athlete has the most roads in the U.S. named after him or her? (Hint: The athlete is not human. Like, literally not a person.)

Which sport has the most streets named after its athletes? (Hint: Again, not humans.)

After six months of unprecedented research, we can answer those questions and many more. We scoured thousands of 2010 Census files, Google maps and various news sources searching for athletes’ full names — we didn’t have another 429 years to investigate every Smith Street to determine whether they were named after Ozzie or Emmitt. The results were astounding: We found almost 3,800 roads in America named after athletes. So saddle up for a wild ride.

(Hint: We’re trying to tell you that this country loves horse racing way more than you thought.)
