Ruff hires two coaches to fill out Devils staff

NHL

NEWARK, N.J. — Lindy Ruff completed his New Jersey Devils staff, hiring Chris Taylor as an assistant coach and Dave Rogalski as the goaltending coach.

General manager Tom Fitzgerald announced the moves Friday.

Ruff previously retained Alain Nasreddine and hired Mark Recchi.

Taylor started his professional coaching career with Rochester (AHL) as an assistant from 2012-16. After the 2016-17 season as an assistant with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, he returned to Rochester to serve as the club’s head coach. He also served as an interim assistant coach with Buffalo for two months last season.

Rogalski spent the last three seasons as the goaltender development coach for the St. Louis Blues. He is credited with influencing Jordan Binnington‘s success late in the 2018-19 season, helping the Blues win the Stanley Cup.
