Emelianenko hospitalized due to COVID-19

One of the greatest MMA fighters ever is currently hospitalized in Russia after testing positive for COVID-19.

Fedor Emelianenko, the former PRIDE FC heavyweight champion and long considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, revealed the news Thursday morning. Sources close to Emelianenko confirmed he is still in a Russian hospital.

“I’m getting better,” Emelianenko wrote on Instagram. “Thankful to the doctors and medical staff for caring and hard work.”

The Russian-Born Emelianenko, 44, hasn’t fought since December 2019, though he hasn’t officially retired from MMA. His record is 39-6, 1 NC.

In addition to being one of the best fighters ever, he is also one of the most beloved, as well.
