Hill-Yoder bout postponed due to COVID

Angela Hill and Ashley Yoder agreed to fight just last week. Now, the fight will no longer be happening Saturday.

The women’s strawweight bout between Hill and Yoder was removed from UFC Fight Night just hours before start of the event due to COVID-19 protocols, the promotion announced Saturday. Yoder said in an Instagram video that a cornerperson tested positive for the coronavirus.

Hill vs. Yoder will be rebooked for March 13, the UFC said. Hill (12-9) is trying to end a two-fight losing streak after back-to-back split decision losses. Yoder (8-6) has won three of her past five and is coming off a win over Miranda Granger in November.

Hill and Yoder have fought before, with Hill picking up a unanimous decision win over Yoder in 2017. UFC Fight Night on Saturday will be headlined by a heavyweight contender bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and rising prospect Ciryl Gane.
