Fighters show their appreciation for Diaz’s performance against Edwards

MMA

For 24 out of the 25 minutes of their fight at UFC 263, Leon Edwards controlled almost every aspect of the fight. His strikes, kicks and almost everything else he did had caused considerable damage and drew significant blood to Nate Diaz‘s face and body.

But as he absorbed that damage, generally looking unconcerned, Diaz had one trick left in his back pocket. With a Stockton slap and a powerful punch, Diaz stunned Edwards and his legs wobbled.

Diaz was ultimately unable to find the final strike to finish Edwards off, and Edwards won a hard-earned decision. But the legend of Nate Diaz once again grew in defeat, and a significant portion of the UFC roster weighed in with their thoughts on the fight, as well as praise and disbelief regarding Diaz’s performance and perseverance.
