Diallo returns to Pistons on 2-year, $10.4M deal

NBA

Restricted free-agent swingman Hamidou Diallo has signed a two-year, $10.4 million deal to return to the Detroit Pistons, his agents Thad Foucher and Joe Smith with Wasserman told ESPN.

Diallo, 23, arrived in a midseason trade with Oklahoma City and averaged 11 points and five rebounds in 23 minutes a game for the Pistons. He averaged 11.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 52 games for the Thunder and Pistons in the 2020-2021 season.

Diallo’s agreement means the Pistons roster has 16 guaranteed contracts now, one above the limit to start the regular season.

Diallo was a second-round pick out of Kentucky in 2018, and played two-plus seasons with Oklahoma City before the trade to Detroit.
