‘I’m in a very fortunate position’ – Newey on Aston Martin move

Formula 1

Adrian Newey tells BBC Sport’s Joe Wilson “it is easy to become stale”, but his “passion has always been for trying to find ways to make the car go faster” after joining Aston Martin.

The 65-year-old designer’s new contract, with the title of managing technical partner, was announced on Tuesday at the team’s F1 base at Silverstone.

Newey, who in April negotiated an early exit from his contract as Red Bull chief technical officer, will start at Aston Martin in early March.
