The UFC has lost a bout from its event about one hour prior to bell time.

A scheduled lightweight fight between Yancy Medeiros and Damir Hadzovic has been canceled because Hadzovic was experiencing health issues, the promotion announced Saturday afternoon. The bout was to be part of the UFC Fight Night: Garbrandt vs. Font prelims Saturday evening in Las Vegas.

This is the third fight scheduled for this event that had to be altered in the last few days. On Friday, Raulian Paiva was pulled from a flyweight bout against David Dvorak due to weight-management issues. Juancamilo Ronderos was inserted in Paiva’s place and will now fight Dvorak on Saturday.

Earlier in the week, a women’s bantamweight bout between Stephanie Egger and Sarah Alpar was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. Medeiros (15-7, 1 NC), a popular action fighter who has trained with Max Holloway and the Diaz brothers, was trying to snap a three-fight losing streak. Hadzovic (13-6) had dropped two in a row following a two-fight winning streak.
