Maple Leafs’ Matthews in, Woll out for series finale

NHL

Toronto star forward Auston Matthews, who missed Games 5 and 6 after exiting Game 4 with an illness before the third period, took the ice with the Maple Leafs on Saturday, and will play Game 7 vs. the Boston Bruins.

A source told ESPN’s Emily Kaplan, before the game, that by no means is Matthews 100%, but that he would play.

Goaltender Joseph Woll, however, who has led a Toronto rally with two wins in the past two games, will not play against the Bruins. Ilya Samsonov, who began the series as Toronto’s starter, will return to the crease at TD Garden. Veteran Martin Jones will be Toronto’s backup netminder.
